Senior’s Program
The Seniors’ Program is a program aimed at keeping our seniors in contact with the Church and reducing any sense of isolation which can become a problem in the senior years when lack of mobility or transportation may restricts church attendance or other outside activities.
Not all members who attend this group can chronologically be classified as a “senior” however, the main requirement is to be “young at heart”, enjoy good fellowship and have the desire to remain and help others remain connected to Trinity and all its activities.
Group activities include outings and get togethers for afternoon lunch, birthday parties or any other good excuse for a gathering. Services to seniors include visits to seniors who are unable to get out or rides to church.
Also as part of the Seniors’ Program, Trinity runs a program known as the Seniors’ “Buddy” Program under the direction of the Pastoral Care Team. In this program a “buddy” maintains weekly contact with a specific senior(s) through phone calls or visits, offers rides to other activities, ensures a copy of the videotape of the latest worship service is taken to their residence if they are unable to get to church – or in general, the buddy simply acts as a caring friend. For Additional Information contact Dale MacGregor through Trinity at 613 836 1429.
Note: Video tapes are available to anyone and the last 6 months of services are kept in a glass enclosed wall cabinet in the main hall. Look behind the first door going into the CE room
