Mission
The Mission Committee at Trinity is a very active one with the projects undertaken based on committee and congregational interests and strengths. Often working in liaison with Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D) the purpose of this committee is to actively involve our Trinity faith community in reaching out to local and global communities to help those in need. Some of their projects have included support in Guyana, Malawi Education Support, Something Extra for Christmas Initiative, food drives for the Kanata Food Cupboard, berry sales in support of Gracefield Christian Camp, Refugee Family Support as well as emergency aid for disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, famine in Western Africa and the South East Asia Tsunami.
Realizing that assisting one’s neighbour reaches far out beyond Trinity, the Mission Committee has also organized a Trinity Mission Fair, entitled Make A Difference – Your Community, Your World. This event allowed numerous charitable organizations to set up displays to educate and to provide volunteer information on the excellent work each organization does to make our world a better place.
The Committee is aware of the demands on busy lives, this Committee tries to conduct much of their business by e-mail when feasible. They heartily welcome new members.
